There's no free ball here, no snookered-and-nominate mechanic. It's ball-in-hand, same as pool, and that trips people up more often than you'd expect.

Heyball's official rulebook chapter is still marked "under review" by the WPA at time of writing, so this is built from IHPA's published rules and WPA's own interim guidance rather than a finalized chapter. If your event or club runs its own variation, that takes precedence over anything shown here.
