Pot The Black started because I got sick of reading the same recycled cue sports content everywhere. You know the type: ten tips for a better break, always vague, never actually useful once you're standing over a tough safety with the match on the line.

So this is the opposite of that. Real tactical breakdowns. Actual mechanics. The stuff that helps when you're three frames down at your local club and need to think your way back into it.

Why Pot The Black?

This isn't a casual pool blog that gets updated when someone remembers it exists. I treat it more like a technical resource — the kind of site I wish existed when I was first trying to understand why my safeties kept letting opponents off the hook, or which tip hardness actually suited my stroke.

Some weeks that means a full breakdown of tip density and cue ball control. Other weeks it's just a quick wrap-up of what happened on tour. Either way, it's written by someone who's actually at the table most weeks, not someone glancing at Wikipedia.
